Wayne Rooney produced a dazzling display as Utd showed Arsenal just how good they can be.
Arsenal who sit above Manchester United in the premiership were left shocked as Rooney, Nani and Fletcher (with 2 goals), contributed to the win. Rooney was the star of the show and produced one of those magic displays which we always hope for.

Manchester Utd won 2-0 in the FA cup 3rd round game at Villa Park. The game started end to end, but quickly got messy as both Villa and Utd showed their tiredness from the extensive festive fixture list. Neither team could string more than 2 passes together.
The only chances of the first half were when Anderson got clear through on the left, and his shot was saved by Carson, plus a curling Ronaldo shot which was parried into the path of an unsuspecting Giggs, who shot wide.

Coventry won 2-0 against the united youngsters last night at Old Trafford, knocking them out of the Carling Cup. Sir Alex Ferguson was left “flabbergasted” by his young side’s performance.
Ferguson said: “I did not expect that at all. I am not interested in giving reasons or mitigating circumstances.”
“We have trumpeted these young lads a lot, so what has happened tonight was a big shock for us all.”
“We didn’t cope with the battle at all - it was just a very bad performance.”

Wayne Rooney is desperate to play in Wednesday night’s Carling Cup third round tie with Coventry.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to shuffle his pack for the Old Trafford encounter with a number of players on the fringes of the squad likely to play a role.
However, Rooney - who is still regaining match fitness following his recovery from a broken foot - has pleaded with Ferguson to allow him to play.
“Wayne Rooney’s been in my ear wanting to play,” Ferguson told Manchester United Radio
