Rooney is already returning to training, 11 days after damaging his ankle.
Rooney and the other injured England players, which includes John Terry, will gather at Wembley to support the final push to Euro 2008!

Major setback for Rooney

Wayne Rooney has had another dissapointing injury and is out for up to four weeks. The injury was to his ankle during a training session.
It means he misses England’s important Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia at Wembley on 21 November.

Rooney scores, but England lose in Moscow

England were left devastated after the 2-1 lose to Russia this afternoon. Rooney put England ahead with a spectacular 29th-minute volley in the first half in a game that they dominated. Steven Gerrard missed a great chance to put them 2-0 up, before Rooney fouled Konstanin Zurianov leading to a penalty and a yellow card. Zurianov put away the penalty on 69 mins and then scored again 4 mins later, after an error by Paul Robinson.

Rooney scores in 3-0 win over Estonia

Rooney scored his first competitive international goal since 2004 in their Euro 2008 qualifier at Wembley.
Shaun Wright-Phillips was first on the socresheet when he shot from a tight angle through keeper Mart Poom’s legs.
Rooney almost ended his goal drought with an exquisite chip before scoring with a deflected shot from 15 yards later in the first half.

Rooney nominated for world player of the year

Wayne Rooney along with John Terry, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard are all up for world player of the year award. The list of 30 players from around the world will be voted on by national team captains and coaches.
The the top three players will be revealed at Fifa’s world player gala in Zurich on December 17th. Kaka has been in exceptional form over the last year and is the current front-runner.

Dr Ulrike Muschaweck who operated on Michael Owen in Munich last week believes the Newcastle striker may recover in time to feature in England’s Euro 2008 qualifying matches later this month. Dr Muschaweck is renowned for procedures that allow her patients to recover faster than normal.
Owen remains cautious though. He said: “Medical advice will decide how quickly I’ll be back but I’d rather remain cautious than set unrealistic targets. I don’t want to tempt fate.
“In the back of my mind, before I had the surgery, I had focused on Newcastle’s 22 October Premier League game against Tottenham - the first after the international break - for a possible return.
