Rooney: Nike boots not the problem

Rooney is sure that his metatarsal injuries are not down to his Nike football boots.

“What has happened to me is just one of those things.”

“In our game, you can get defenders stamping on your feet and, unfortunately for me, it has happened three times and I have broken something three times.”

I want to fight for England team place

Wayne Rooney believes he is not an automatic starter for England and insists he must work hard for his club to get back in to the National team.

The Manchester United striker has missed England’s last three games through a metatarsal injury - the third of his young career.

And Rooney has said he is concentrating on his club form, but is hopeful of regaining his place in the national team.

“My priority at the moment has to be Manchester United so all I am concentrating on at the moment is getting myself 100 per cent fit and doing well for my club,”

Sir Alex Ferguson hurt in attack!

Sir Alex Ferguson has suffered minor injuries after an alleged attack at a London railway station.

It is understood the Manchester United manager was on his way to a function when he was allegedly attacked by a man at Euston station on Monday afternoon.
