Wayne Rooney made a surprise recovery from his injury today as United clinched the Premiership title at Wigan. He did look unfit though and wasn’t his usual energetic self. Let’s hope he gets back in shape for the Champions League final!

Wayne Rooney saved Utd’s title hopes this weekend at the Riverside. Utd eased ahead after 10 minutes with Ronaldo’s 37th goal of the season. Haphazard defending then caused Utd to concede two Afonso Alves goals. It was the Brazillian’s first goal for the club and there couldn’t have been any better team to score them against.

Rooney made it 2-2 after 74 minutes from Park Ji-Sung’s cross and could have scored a winner, but for Schwarzer’s save.

Rooney scored 2 goals in Utd’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa this weeked. It was a game that reflected the amazing team that Utd have at the moment. With Rooney and Ronaldo running the show again and leaving O’Neill speachless at the post-match interview. Rooney was named man of the match and likened Utd to Brazil.

“It’s brilliant. Growing up I used to love watching Brazil. The football we play in this team is similar to the way Brazil play. It’s an honour to be in this team.”

Rooney was on top form in Utds 3-0 win over Liverpool. Although the goals aren’t flowing at the moment, he was easily man of the match, providing assists for both Wes Brown and Nani.

He appeared to be limping at the end of the game, but has been passed fit for England training.

Rooney and Ronaldo both scored late on to end the Reading game 2-0. Rooney scored on 77 minutes from a Tevez cross and Ronaldo sealed it right before the final whistle.

Man Utd were not at their best and Reading threw everything at them in the first half. However Reading found it hard to keep up the pressure in the 2nd half.

United now head to Saudi Arabia for a five-day training camp.

The FA may consider action against Liverpool after a fan attempted to throw a golf ball at Wayne Rooney during the club’s 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United. Fortunately the ball did not hit him, but it could have been serious if it had.

Rooney played 70 minutes in monday’s game against Fulham before being subsituted. Rooney played well and it was difficult to tell he has just returned from injury. Although he was unhappy to be taken off, Ferguson wanted to rest his star player and Utd were in a strong position.

United won the game 2-0 after 2 excellent Cristinano Ronaldo strikes.
