Goal taken from Rooney

The goal Wayne Rooney scored at Arsenal earlier in the season has been ruled as a William Gallas own-goal. Rooney’s sliding shot rebounded off Gallas into the Arsenal net.

Is it right to take a goal away from a player so long after the match?
