Roon and Ron on form against Roma

Manchester United grabbed 2 crucial away goals against Roma in the first half quarter final tie against Roma tonight. Ronaldo and Rooney we’re in spectacular form. Rooney and Ronaldo made it 2-0 against Roma to push Utd towards the Champ. League semi finals.

Rooney’s goal (66 mins) was not pretty, but it was the important second goal. Park’s header from Wes Brown’s cross was parried by the keeper and Rooney bundled in from inside the 6 yard box.

Ronaldo scored in the 39th minute from an amazing header. He covered a massive amount of ground to meet Paul Scholes’s cross and fire the ball into the back of the net. His momentum left him a little dazed, but he soon got back to his feet and had a host of near misses.

Roma played well and had a lot of the ball, but failed to convert any chances, with Van der Sar only having to make one save. United were a bit swamped after the break when Roma tried to come back from 1-0 down, but it didn’t last long and late on it could have ended up 5 or 6-0.
