Wayne Rooney always finds going to Liverpool the most exciting game of the season.
Rooney says “Chelsea isn’t the biggest game of the season for me. For me, it is always Liverpool. I think, for most players, going to Anfield is massive”. “I think it is the biggest game of the season for most teams”.
“I think it is the biggest game of the season for most teams.
“They (Chelsea) are clearly missing Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba and hopefully they won’t be playing on Sunday. If they do we’ll just have to do our jobs as well”.
But Rooney still recognises Chelsea as their main challengers in their bid to retain the title, but suggested recent gopings-on might have affected their confidence.
“If we can win, that would be Chelsea getting one point from nine in their last three games,” Rooney told MUTV.
“You never know what that might do to their confidence.
“I know we didn’t have the best of starts this season but it is amazing how quickly it has turned round.
“Now we have a chance to go three points in front of them, which makes it a massive game, even if it is not going to decide the title.”
“You have to regard Chelsea as the main threat,” he said.
