Rooney saves Utd
Wayne Rooney saved Utd’s title hopes this weekend at the Riverside. Utd eased ahead after 10 minutes with Ronaldo’s 37th goal of the season. Haphazard defending then caused Utd to concede two Afonso Alves goals. It was the Brazillian’s first goal for the club and there couldn’t have been any better team to score them against.
Rooney made it 2-2 after 74 minutes from Park Ji-Sung’s cross and could have scored a winner, but for Schwarzer’s save.
